Contributing to GeoEco

GeoEco is an open-source project. For security reasons, we do not allow anonymous access to our Subversion source code repository, but you can view and download the code from our project web site. Of course, most of it is Python code that you can browse by installing GeoEco on your computer. If these avenues are not convenient enough for you, please contact jason.roberts@duke.edu for a snapshot of the source tree.

Currently, all of the GeoEco contributors are researchers or software developers affiliated with the Duke University Marine Geospatial Ecology Laboratory. We are working on the infrastructure needed to allow external collaborators to contribute their own code. We welcome you to contact us if you are interested in collaborating.

Once you are granted access to the source tree, here's how to get started:

Install required software
Configure PuTTY
Checkout the source tree
Create a personal branch in the source tree
Build the installation packages
